    1. Goldeneye was good. Not great, but good. Brosnan was ok, but not the best Bond ever, as has been said around my town.
    2. I am probably one of the few people who actually enjoyed Dalton's Bond. I thought he brought emotion to the role (when finding Felix's wife dead and when "resigning" from hmss). I was sorry to see him go!

I like Brosnan as much as I liked the other ones. It's too bad that the world was not ready to accept his kind of Bond.

    3. I said "resigning" because I don't believe M took the resignation seriously. If you remember, he showed concern when bond took off after resigning. I think he unofficially agreed with bond. And remember, Bond tried to resign in ohmss, even though Moneypenny only requested two weeks. M knew what had happened (remember M saying "and what would I do without you, Ms. Moneypenny). M also had to know that bond denied strict orders by attacking blofelds encampment on the mountain. I believe that M says and does what is offically expected of him, but also doesn't push issues that are forgotten. Therefore, I don't believe that Bond ever had to be re-admitted to hmss. M never accepted his resignation.

That's a given. I am sure that M welcomed Bond back into the fold with open arms. In Key West, M let him go because he knew that Bond couldn't go back on the job without extracting revenge.

    4. Someone commented on a newsgroup that Sean Connery should come back and play M. What a great idea! Nothing against the new actress, but I just thought that would be very neat. (sort of a guest appearence, as in Robin Hood, with Kevin Costner).

I can't agree with anyone who says that Connery should return in some part. That would be the ultimate in cheesiness and would make me abhor the series (and the producers) forever. The idea is just absurd!

Hope you enjoy my comments. I don't tear apart a film into minor details. I try to see if I can just sit back and enjoy it. I enjoyed Goldeneye. It wasn't the best, but hell, it wasn't Casino Royale either!

If you recall, at the end of the final fight, after 006 had fallen, the helicopter comes close enough for Bond to jump onto the landing strut. Since Bond was at the bottom of a pole, for the helicopter to get close enough for a jump to the strut, the rotoes would have hit the pole. For the rotors to have avoided the pole, he would have had to jump through the rotors - Bond's timing has always been good, but...

'Nuff said.
